Pre-season testing is the perfect time to not only test product, but for many to dial in their equipment ahead of the middle east swing on the DP World Tour. With the launch of the all-new Qi35, there’s been a few new additions to Team TaylorMade’s setups, so here’s a rundown of all the things you need to know.

“Biggest plus from fits so far is consistency, the mis-hits are very, very good, with less deviation in flight than I’ve seen in any previous driver”
“Visual feedback very strong – fitting is actually pretty fun!”
“Fairways again are great to work with. The Qi35 Fairway option interacts with turf extremely well and everyone in my fits has commented on how easy they feel to hit, launch and get great numbers”
TOMMY FLEETWOOD
“At this level of the game, particularly with Tommy who is so detailed with his equipment, players are only going to switch if they know it can improve their performance on the course. There’s no change for the sake of change.”- ADRIAN RIETVELD, TAYLORMADE SENIOR TOUR REP

Matching his Qi10 Driver to Qi35 was the starting point, looking for performance gains with different head and shaft options. Tommy gravitated towards a pairing of Qi35 Driver and Ventus Red 6X Velocore+, finding speed gains and good spin rates.
Tommy and Adrian spent 2 days on the range and out on the course putting his Qi35 Driver and 5-wood to the test. By adding slightly more loft in the head, launch went up, better dispersion which meant that Tommy found it easier to draw the ball; his natural shot shape. Moving onto his 5-wood, with a fraction lower spin, good launch characteristics, Tommy saw his desired ball flight.
TOMMY'S Qi35 DRIVER SPEC

CHARLEY HULL

Charley got her hands on Qi35 Driver at the CME Tour Championship and has continued to test and provide feedback to Adrian ahead pre-season testing in Dubai.
Using all of her feedback, Adrian moved the weight back in the Qi35 LS 8° head, added a click of loft which gave her the launch and spin she was looking for. However, taking it out onto the course is the true test! Drawing it a fraction more which is the shape she prefers it went straight in the bag.
For any of you that follow Charley, you may or may not be aware that her trusty SIM Hybrid has been in the bag for a while… until now! Gaining 5-yards of carry, she’s switched instantly into Qi35 19° Another new addition is Qi35 3-wood, with more ball speed and launch, she commented that she loved it and it was going straight in the bag.

"It’s not always trying to fix something, it can be looking at longevity" - Sam Day (Senior Tour Representative)
What can we say about Romain's fitting?! Qi35 Driver was an instant hit, that much so he walked away with two drivers that he could put in play; Qi35 Driver & Qi35 LS Driver. Favouring Qi35 LS this week at the Team Cup, Sam will continue to work with Romain at the Dubai Desert Classic. Similar to Charley Hull, Romain's had a trusty Stealth 5-wood in his bag for a while. We can confirm that it's now been replaced by Qi35 Tour Fairway, same spec as his previous gamer he found tighter spin tolerance and performed how he liked it.

Guido never really settled in Qi10 and was eager to get his hands on Qi35! Favouring Qi35 LS, he left the range to take it out onto the course for a true test. Heading back down the to range he caught up with the team and tested the Qi35 Driver, 10 shots later it was an instant hit!
DRIVER: Qi35 | 9°

One word to round up Sebastian's fitting: MONEY
Repeat specs for his 3 and 5 wood were the standout, Sam called it 'MONEY' and Seb agreed!

"I've got to say this was probably my favourite fit of the week. Jay is very particular with his shafts so there was a lot of work here! He'll actually be playing 13 new golf clubs going into the Dubai Desert Classic because of the shafts." - Sam Day
One standout change to his setup is his Hybrid. Finding performance in the Qi35 19.5° set standard one notch lower, his trusty gamer is out. After 5 hits of Qi35 Fairway, built in length and swing weight of his Qi10, it was again an instant switch.
"This year with the shape of the LS Driver head we're seeing a lot of players being able to turn it over. From Jay having a right miss, he's now seeing a marginal left. Hitting it out on the course he can setup right of target and he trusts it more and more to come back centre of the fairway."
DRIVER: Qi35 LS | 8°
FAIRWAY: Qi35 | 15°
HYBRID: Qi35 | 19°

It was in and out for Tom! As a cutter of the ball, getting the face angle to sit square and finding the correct strike is so important. Qi35 Driver 8° set 2 towards higher was the perfect match, gaining 2mph clubhead speed, he trusts it.
